Excellent Mods everyone. Congrats. Making a great game even better!
One minor problem for me personally though. Was playing with the ALTR mod which included the Vision Rebalance mod. excellent. But version 1.07 of the ALTR mod makes the vision mod useless. i prefer the vision to work the way it did with the vision mod compared to the new ALTR 1.07. with this new change i will have beastmen 2 steps from my soldiers before i can see them and there is nothing but open terrain for miles. not sure why this would make sense...

am i alone in this?
excellent mods shadowarrior and crew. please reconsider the latest vision changes. thanks.

If you have comments to make specifically about the Total Rebalance mod, please make them in the forum devoted to the mod.

I have removed the old version of the "Total Rebalance Modification" and the "Afterlight No Time Limit mod" as requested by ShadoWarrior. Reason is they contained some serious bugs.

This looks awesome!!!

I missed most of the mods for UFO-AS and have to admit, that now, that I finished AS, it is that I heard of the total rebalance mod T_T

*shakes head*

The thing is: I don't want to miss the work of the modders in AL, but I don't want to clutter it with every mod possible!

If I may humbly ask for a little more advice which mod would make most sense for a total newbie in AL, who doesn't know the characters or the forced trainigs some mods mention and how agressive the factions are, etc.
Just a little advice wouuld be really appreciated! Maybe different opinions?
I guess the total rebalance mod is a must ^_- For me at least. It sounds incredible!
But hints like... "This ***** Character is a pain in the ass, replace him/her with this mod"...
Or "Factions are so aggressive, you will be constantly attacked and have no time for research. Install at least one mod to cool them down if you don't want too many fights" would be what I'm looking for!

For me, it seems at the moment that I would have to start playing the game unmodded for several hours/days, and then decide which mods I use when I restart it... Not too bad in my oppinion, but I guess you guys can help us newbies here happy.gif

Gnarp, out!

You should play the first time through vanilla. Get used to the game etc. After you beat the game the first time, then you can re-vitalize it with mods cool.gif

I prefer to play unmodded the first time as well. If you get annoyed with short sight ranges and the likes, you can apply the vision rebalance mod later. Not all mods can be applied after you started playing though.

Anyway, I haven't tested many mods yet, so there is little I can say one way or another. I hardly find time to play, much less testing mods.

Hello peeps smile.gif I haven't tried any mods yet cos I wanna play the game the way it was originally programmed, however.....

Is there a mod or console command that can be used to turn off the auto-end-mission after you kill all enemies? I really hate how the tactical stage ends so abruptly after the last kill.

I am gonna get that darker robots mod though ph34r.gif

Yes, Both the Forum Link and the Downloads.

That mod was the endresult of a simple introductionary tutorial to UFO:AL texture modding. At one point, after the original thread's creation, the number of stickies on this board reached an overwhelming number. The thread for the original tutorial was therefore moved into the general Afterlight modding tips, where to find stuff, hints, how-to, etc.-thread. If you must have the mod, it's still hosted at Strategycore. Though if you're into modding or just want different textures you're probably better off with one of the other more comprehensive texturepacks - > Strategycore skin section

I never got around to updating that tutorial to more useful levels...
