Hello , I have made this little mod who replaces the old UTE by a sister of Samantha , sorry but I cannot stand UTE , it could have be ok for a scientist but not as a fighter , you just have to add it on your main folder game and no need to start a new game .

Where may I upload it ?

I just shifted Pauline into the first slot of the characters list and switched some numbers making Ute the soldier/tech and Pauline the soldier smile.gif

I tried this and got some errors ie incorrect names on things. Forgot to edit the Pack text when you rearrange the Charcter IDs

So much to learn when Moding a new game and data structure.

Hallo and thank you for your mod!
Just one little thing:it didn't work for me at first until i renamed the file from nohut.vfs to nohut_mod.vfs.
I think "mod" is needed at the beginning or the end of the filename of a mod or it is being ignored (same as in aftershock).
Again: Great mod and thanks.

Correct, the MOD tag is nessecary so the exe recognizes the file as a mod, happened to me once too as i was testing a new version and i wondered why it didnt show up biggrin.gif

@ ralfsolo: Hallo again, one little question: i have modified your mod a bit - to get rita immediately at the start of a new game and wanted to look into it some more tomorrow - maybe reviving Jürgen, make it possible to get olga zamyatina with her father alive ... The question is if you do mind me modifying and uploading it.

You can edit as you want this mod , I say how I did then you can add it to an other mod in case of incompatibility :

1 - units\configs\character.txt

At this file you head to the first character who is UTE and at these 2 lines you change the name of UTE to
the one you want , here Samantha

videodir STR "Interface\Models\Cinematics\tchars\samantha"
sounddir STR "sound\exclam\samantha"

then you have to find theses other files from Samantha and rename them as UTE (i didn't change the name of the old lady but just the physical apparency of her )

2- models\humans\head_f_ute.txt

3-interface\models\portraits\uteheinemann.txt .... (from samanthasvensson.txt)

4-interface\models\portraits\uteheinemann_unavailable.txt

5-interface\models\portraits\static\ute.txt

..................

to revive Jürgen is a very good idea , but maybe the most simple way is to copy all his caracteristic and make a new guy with a new name, in the character.txt there is ID number , the last one has number 44 so I guess it sould be : id INT 45 for him

But does he has sound or anime ?

Don't change the ID, like changing Ute to 1 and Pauline to 9 ... that messes up the history etc. The characters file doesn't care what ID a person has, it just plops them down in the order they appear in the list.

So you can just cut out Pauline (her entire ID 9 part) and put it first, then move Ute's #1 where Pauline's were ... done. The characters remain exactly the same (history, everything), but Pauline shows up first in the list, and Ute where Pauline were.

Oh well I guess I learned about editing the Pack file and a few others out of this, nice to know the entries does not have to be in sequential order.

Hallo!
i tweaked the characters in the game quite a bit - i will open a topic about it.
I was not able to revive jürgen - although i edited the save game and tried quite a bit he didn't want to reappear among the living. I do have an idea though and maybe will return to it in near future - basically the idea is to rewrite one of existing passive characters (Rita2 or olga2 for example) Any ideas?
