After realising that it's not very normal for everyone on Mars to have problems with their eyesight, this mod doubles all detection ranges. Now you can actually snipe stuff! I felt it odd that there were huge maps with nice sniping venues but all fights ended up with close combat and people throwing grenades at someone standing next to them.
Instructions: 1. Download. http://www.arrack.se/afterlight/vismod.zip 2. Unpack. 3. Put it in your game directory and run the game. 4. Snipe! Enjoy! |

Can vision and hearing ranges be modded separately? I like the improved vision range very much but I think that the hearing range should be toned down a bit because those night missions get very dull when your soldiers can hear where 90% of all enemies are as soon as they get out of the UFO.

Vision and hearing can both be modded, but not as separate mods because the values are both in the same data file.

yes they can.
In the file is an entry for each detection method (seeing, hearing, infra, EMvision, nightvision, smell, ... ) and all of them are upped, as the author correctly stated ("... this mod doubles all detection ranges"). btw your troops hear better during nighttime than during the day edit: as SW said, only in one mod |

Or the hearing increase. |

Afterlight Improved Sight Only mod This mod doubles 'Seeing' during both day (to 40) and night (to 24) for all units. Just to make sure... it doesn't alter smelling or hearing ranges at all? What's the difference between this and the vision rebalance mod? |

Vision Rebalance is no longer a supported mod. As for what, specifically, it does you are encouraged to download it and read the documentation that is included within the archive file.
