I was looking through the forums and someone mentioned increasing the UFO weight capacity. I would just like to know if it is possible to mod the UFO capacity, and if so, make a mod and release it.

nice mod - but boring name
how about using a name like UFO Capacity mod for very xtreme looting biggrin.gif

nevermind ... my rather serious suggestion is :

make this capacity a research tech after the better ufo-engine
kind off "better engine allows to carry more cargo too after a few tweaks by scientiests"

Nice idea. However it's not possible to do that in AL AFAIK. Improving vehicle speeds requires affecting the speed parameters stored in the vehicle.txt file, which is a file whose contents are accessible/changeable during the course of a game. UFO capacity, OTOH, is a parameter within the global constants file, and that file CANNOT be touched while a game is in progress.

Hell, I'm still waiting for someone to let me know if this mod even works on a NEW game without screwing something up. Messing with the constants file is a very risky proposition in AL ...

in the equipment screen every squadmember had the graphics of a gatling gun in front of its suit.

That's a bug I get often when I switch from one game to the next.

Like changing from my gae when I'm way ahead in the story to the one I use the beta test SW's mod. When I switch between the 2 something wierd always happens. It's a normal game bug, nothing to do with this mod.

Best solution is just to restart the game.

If you're talking bout something else, sorry. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the gatling graphic.

Had a similar thing when I changed something and then started a new game.

Quiting the game totaly and starting again got rid of the graphic in front of the characters. Mine was a Laser Cannon.

Yep that did it - the added graphic is gone - quitting to main menu isn't enough.

AND btw. this capacity mod works with my OLD Game ! - just managed to loot over one tonne laugh.gif
(@SW maybe you got other conflict that it doesn't work with your game in progress ?!)

another suggestion:
1. is there any way to increase the looting space (not the weight only) ?
2. or much better :to change the auto-loot-function to give priority to grenades, uncommon ammotypes , and then standard ammo ? (no i dont need another 5 big cannons - i already got more than 100)

i used capacity mod with : mod_no_advise , mod_TG_sounds , SimpleXPmod <- nothing that changed constant.txt to my knowledge

Yep, it seems to work fine, even on older games. What I've noticed is that the mod tends to shift the random generator that determines whether a particular mission yields loot or not. In the game in which I first tried this mod I had two consecutive missions where I got no loot from the missions with the mod, and loot from both missions without the mod. In my new game, I didn't get loot from the first broken water pipeline mission, a mission in which I almost always get 2-3 drone corpses. But I did get loot from my next drone mission, so I know the mod hasn't broken the game.

EDIT: In that next drone mission I used the kill_enemies cheat and got 3 drone corpses. Not using the cheat and fighting my way through the mission I got just 1 corpse. It appears the loot code is more random than I'd thought.

1. Not safely, AFAIK.
2. I don't know how to do that. I don't even know if that's hard-coded or externalized (and thus perhaps moddable).
