Afterburner mod !

if you have the need for speed, then this is the mod for you :

http://www.savefile.com/files/598735

it changes game\configs\strategic\entity\vehicle.txt
ufo 0.6 to 0.9
scientiest vehicle 0.12 to 0.15
technical vehicle 0.07 to 0.1
all boosterspeedmod entries from 2 to 3

This mod is compleatly redundant if you are a patient person/like defence missions.

First, considering that the game has a time limit, you're wrong about the mod being "redundant", which is especially true for anyone who is as you call it, "patient". Anything that speeds building will help players who're naturally slow at doing things.

Second, it's rude to dis someone's mod. It shows an astonishing lack of consideration and appreciation for the time and effort that modder has spent in trying to help other players. You may not find a particular mod personally useful, but someone else might be overjoyed at having it. If you've nothing nice or constructive to say about someone else's work, then please keep quiet.

i was was being sarcastic in some twisted way.

i like this mod. though i wont use mods at all before i'll finish i will use mods to replay the game.

it's a really nice mod. but still... it's more like cheating rather then modding. i mean with improved engines... you do speed them up. did he remeber to change the improved values? i hope so. it's not that easy to pass the mountains and craters that mars has. especialy since each car is actually a convoy of trucks that carry a lot of heavy things.

It should be compatible with all other mods, and it shouldn't require a restart. However, just to be safe, whenever adding new mods you should always make sure that you have a savegame from before you add in the mod.

I might be wrong but I believe the old upgrade doubles the speed of the vehicles, while the new version triples the modified speeds.

no. but there are steep canyons, heavy load, massive convoys, breakdowns, a lot of turns, navigation challenges and also there are attacks avoidance! which ALL slow down the craft... well... more correctly they add challenges that make the trip longer! you can't strap on a 2nd engine and go faster on mars! if they could go faster they would! but there are just to many challenges.

Yanlin, what part of this being a strategy game, and not a reality sim, don't you understand?

Added to StrategyCore.co.uk

A readme file would be nice in future mod releases. Good work!

No Problem !

heres my super-special-Yanlin-only-mod :

SlowVehicle_mod aka Cautious Pedestrians mod
http://www.savefile.com/files/602242

it changes game\configs\strategic\entity\vehicle.txt
ufo 0.6 to 0.3 (you forgot all those evil sandstorms and later those heavy rain conditions)
scientist vehicle 0.12 to 0.06 (fast driving isn't good for thinking)
technical vehicle 0.07 to 0.03
all boosterspeedmod entries from 2 to 1.1 (now the research really pays off with a whopping 10% percent increase in performance)
