Here's a categorized list of all feature additions that are currently planned to be implemented in the future versions of UFO:AL. Please use the Gameplay bugs & suggestions forum for posting additional feature suggestions.

General features
    none at the moment
Strategic game features
  • Display equipment statistics (standard average values) without having to equip a weapon onto a unit
  • Allow the player to change characters' nicknames
  • Order the building list in personel screen by building type
  • Make different kinds of mission marks easier to distinguish from each other
  • Make characters automatically return to their previous job after completing their training
  • Make it possible to scrap the drones you don't want to keep
Tactical game features
  • Make belt slots in inventory faster to use than backpack slots
  • Restore Aftershock style item handling (each inventory manipulation costs time)
  • Allow Reticulans and Martians to change stances
  • Allow Beastmen to crouch
  • Allow units to target inanimate objects with melee weapons (ie. Beastman crates with buzzsaws)
  • Add dispersion effect to shots force-fired at inanimate objects
  • Make "Get all" button more selective (ignore non-unique corpses etc.)
AI changes
  • Allow enemies with launchers to lead their targets
  • Make enemies use mines more intelligently (get rid of the current suicide bomber-style behaviour)
  • Make enemies use available cover more effectively
  • Make enemies avoid obvious killzones
  • Make enemies react to long-range fire more intelligently
  • Make enemies use alternative strategies against units that cannot be harmed by their weapons
  • Make enemies avoid hurting their friends with area-effect weapons
Modding related features
  • Add a proper mod manager which the player can use to enable and disable installed mods
  • Allow mods to be stored in a separate mod folder
  • Display a warning message if installed mods conflict with each other
  • Enable error messages for Lua scripts
